Formal variations include several hand/body positions with differentiating names. All mudras engage the mind, the ultimate focus. Benefits Brings attention inward, aids concentration, stillness and calmness. A nonverbal means to express and communicate feelings; mudras are meant to balance the flow of energy, as well as channel the energy to specific energy points (used in isolated instances, in tandem with positions, breathing exercises, or to enhance mediation focus).
