Tip for Today: How to Recognize Heat Exhaustion Posted May 3, 2008 at 10:00 AM by Lindsay Hutton Spring is a wonderful time of year, but with nice temperatures and increased outdoor activities comes the risk of getting sick from dehydration and over exposure to sunlight. How do you know if you have been in the sun too long? The most common symptoms of heat exhaustion are heavy sweating, muscle cramping, pale skin, nausea, headache, and fainting. If you or someone else are exhibiting these symptoms, immediately try to cool down and hydrate. Seek medical attention if the symptoms persist or worsen. If left untreated, heat exhaustion can lead to heat stroke, which is a very serious medical emergency.(Continued...)
