Tip for Today: Cat Stretch Posted April 9, 2008 at 11:00 AM by Lindsay Hutton If you are suffering from low back pain and are looking for a good stretch to help relieve it, this is the move for you. To begin, kneel on the floor on all fours. Make sure your hands are directly underneath your elbows, and your hips are in line with your knees so your legs form a 90 degree angle. Take a deep breath and slowly round your back up towards the ceiling, creating a “c” in your spine from your head to tailbone. As you exhale, draw your belly button in towards your spine to deepen the curve in your back. Hold this position for a few seconds, then slowly release the stretch and let your stomach drop towards the floor, allowing your abdominal muscles to relax. Repeat this move 3-5 times.(Continued...)
