Posted November 28, 2007 at 12:00 PM by Shannon Clark One of the most often debated issues in discussions about healthy eating is late night dining - some think it might be the worst thing you can do, and swear off touching anything after supper, while others don’t seem to see what all the fuss is about. What’s the truth? Can you really enjoy food before going to bed, or is it going to hinder a healthy prognosis? The biggest problem with late night snacking is that the food we tend to eat is high in simple carbohydrates - items like popcorn, potato chips, candy, low fat ice creams, pretzels or fruit. A nighttime snacker might think they are doing themselves a favor by choosing ‘low fat versions’ of their favorite foods, but these choices are likely what’s causing the problem in the first place.…(Continued...)
