Study: More Americans Are Done With Dieting Posted January 9, 2008 at 02:00 PM by Katie Drummond It looks like we’re finally listening to those words of wisdom that warn against the shortcomings of dieting, according to data from a new market research study released this past Friday. According to the survey of 26,000 American adults, 29% of women and 19% of men are on diets. While the number might sound large, think of it in relative terms - 10 years ago, those figures were closer to 35% and 23%, respectively. “The problem with diets is most people feel deprived, or they’re disappointed with the results. Of course, results will come if you stick with it,” NPD Vice President Harry Balzer said.
