There are numerous vaccines that adults should be receiving on a scheduled basis, but unfortunately not many adults are complying. That’s the word from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). “We really need to get beyond the mentality that vaccines are for kids,” U.S. Assistant Surgeon General Anne Schuchat told a news conference Wednesday. “Vaccines are for everybody.” Unfortunately, the main reason adults fail to get certain shots is that they simply don’t realize what vaccinations they should be receiving. The CDC conducted a survey of 7,000 people last year and the only vaccination that most people could think of was the flu shot.
