According to Divorcerate.org, the divorce rate in America for first marriage is 41%, and for a second marriage - 60%. Those numbers are alarming. Now, take into consideration that cardiovascular disease (heart disease) is the number one cause of the death in the United States. The study reported that marital stress and other bad personal relationships can raise your risk for heart disease. They propose that it all boils down to stress—a well-known contributor to health problems, as well as a byproduct of a bad relationship. The study looked at over 9,000 British civil servants, most of them married.
