Friday’s Poll: Is a Running Dress a Good Idea?

My local running store, Running Fit, sent out their weekly email. In this one I saw something I had never seen before---a plug for a New Balance running dress. I’m slowly growing used to the idea of the running skirt. In fact, I bought one but it’s still a bit chilly to break out my pale stems for uncovered outdoor runs. But a running dress? A tight-fitting one? I’m not sure I would feel comfortable. I’m curious as to what our readers think. Is it possible shorts are too manly and the new “feminine” workout apparel is a dress or a skirt? Then again, maybe the women of today simply want different options because they get bored with the same black, knee length capris.
If you want a little more information, this is how they hyped up the dress in my email. A little black running dress? New from New Balance for our more feminine side. Offers a relaxed skirt for ease of motion, with a fitted bodice and shelf bra for support. It’s so cute you might want to save it for the after race party. Sidenote: It retails for $65.
