waterAlways drink before, during, and after exercise. If you are exercising for less then an hour, plain water should be enough to keep you properly hydrated. Avoid any beverage that has caffeine, since these will only dehydrate you more. For activities over an hour, you may want to consider consuming a sports drink to replace lost electrolytes as well as lost fluids. Keep in mind, most sports drink containers are two servings. One serving should be enough, so try diluting it by replacing the second serving with water. That way you will be getting the benefits of the sports drink, but without all the added sugar and calories an entire bottle would give you.
