As more Americans embrace a healthier lifestyle, the popularity of fizzy beverages continues to wane. Industry insiders even predict that the bottled water industry will overtake carbonated soft drinks within the decade.
This news bodes well for flavored, vitamin-enhanced water makers like PepsiCo. In 2006, PepsiCo introduced SoBe Life Water to the market, a naturally flavored lifestyle water chock full of the vitamin B complex, and antioxidant vitamins C and E. According to the National Cancer Institute, antioxidants like vitamins C and E protect cells from the damage inflicted by free radicals. The cancer fighting agents in SoBe Life Water make it worth the $1.39 price tag.
Designed to help you live a healthier life, SoBe Life Water comes in five tasty and refreshing flavors that our testers found enjoyable: Strawberry Kiwi, Pomengranate Cherry, Blackberry Grape, Orange Tangerine, and Passionfruit Citrus.
SoBe’s trademark “dueling lizards” hug the sleek bottle of the Life Water, the latest in SoBe’s unique family of healthy refreshment beverages. According to Tom Smallhorn, vice president of marketing for SoBe, “SoBe has been making beverages to uplift the mind, body and spirit for the past ten years.” With the addition of its vitamin rich, low sodium Life Water, SoBe offers a beverage that tastes better than plain water, contains fewer calories than soda, and delivers more benefits than other high sodium energy drinks like Gatorade.
Life Water, like its rival Glaceau’s VitaminWater (just purchased by Coca-Cola for $4.1 billion), is sweetened with natural crystalline fructose instead of artificial sweeteners. However, both Life Water and VitaminWater pack 32.5 grams of both sugar and carbohydrates, and 125 calories per 20 oz. bottle. People counting their sugar grams, carbs, and calories might want to stick to plain water – drizzled with lemon and lime for flavor – instead.
Overall, SoBe Life Water lives up to its hype: it’s a great, healthy, refreshing beverage that we found to successfully quench our thirst.
You can find SoBe Life Water at your local grocery store in the water aisle. For more information, visit the SoBe Life Water website at www.sobelifewater.com.
