Is Hoodia the Solution to Hunger?

HoodiaHunger is a big issue that almost anyone deals with when they go on a diet.  The psychological feelings of deprivation are usually strong enough when you start eliminating most of the foods you enjoy; add that to the fact that you need to consume fewer and fewer calories as you progress along and it can become slightly unpleasant.

Usually the biggest time when people cheat on their diet is either when they are overly emotional and looking for some comfort or when they begin to feel so hungry they could eat the legs off the table.

Choosing the foods that make up your lifestyle will largely help to manage this hunger. However, problems still may be seen, particularly if you are in the lower calorie range.

At this point, the thought of turning to a supplement probably sounds quite appealing.

When you walk into a supplement store there are usually loads of products that line the shelves, each one claiming to have a different benefit. Some claim to speed your metabolism, making the pounds just fly off. Others tell you they will give you loads of energy so you feel like you can workout for hours.  Still more supplements will state that they help take away your appetite, so that you never feel hungry.

Hoodia is an example of such a supplement. Hoodia Gordonii is a plant that grows in the remote Kalahari Desert region of South Africa.

It was found that when this plant is taken in 100% pure form, appetite suppression occurred.  The hunters used it on their longer trips in order to stave off hunger and provide them energy to carry on.  Now dieters are beginning to take advantage of these benefits as well.

The nice thing about Hoodia is that there are no side effects for most individuals and the majority of those who take it do respond fairly well.

The recommended dosage is 500 mg, three times per day.  Do note that some people require a few days on the supplement in order to start seeing effects, so if you don’t experience hunger suppression after the first dosage, do not get overly discouraged. It may just take a bit longer to kick in for you.

If after a few days you are still not noticing anything, then you will likely want to bump up the dosage to 750 mg instead. That higher dosage is usually enough to get things going, and get noticeable results.

It is important while on Hoodia - or on any “diet” plan - that you do still monitor your food intake to ensure you are getting enough nutrients. If the supplement starts working really well for you and it causes you to lose complete interest in food, you can set yourself up to experience mineral deficiencies and too big a caloric drop.

So if you are looking for something to help take the edge off your appetite, consider giving Hoodia a try. It is a little more costly to get the 100% pure Hoodia, but this is the only kind that will really truly deliver you the results you’re looking for so well worth the investment.
