1. Eat closer to the source. Foods that have been processed are more likely to do harm to your body than foods in their natural state.
2. Eat more vegetables. Simple, but don’t be content with a little ice burg lettuce on your plate… I am talking red cabbage, parsley, parsnips, tomatoes, rutabaga, onions, scallions, mustard greens, red, yellow and green peppers, laciento kale, carrots, bib lettuce, butternut squash, banana peppers, radishes, jicama, cilantro, zucchini, eggplant, sweet potatoes, yams, parsley, kohlrabi, brussel sprouts, collard greens, artichoke, spinach, tomatillos - there is an endless playground of vitality at your command!
3. Eat more fruit. Fruit is trickier because of the rapid assimilation of sugars, so be mindful of the glycemic index of the fruits you consume. Your blood sugar can fluctuate on the high-low sugar cycle from fruit just like any other source of sugar. Best to balance your fruit consumption with other foods.
4. Exercise!
5. Have meaning in your life.
6. Eat healthy fats, eliminate low quality fat.
7. Eat high quality meat, dairy and eggs. Make the step to free range, organic animal products.
8. Eat the whole grain! Begin to introduce quinoa, amaranth, teff, kamut, barley, brown rice, rye, oats, tricticale, spelt, millet and buckwheat.
9. Connect with nature, get in the sunshine, and develop your relationship with God, life, or any thing that you conceive as beautiful and larger than yourself. This is our primary source of nourishment!
